I love the calendar and morning board idea I saw at Homeschool Creations and at 1+1+1=1. My kiddos are in preschool and Grade 1 so it's the perfect age to do this. I found the star calendar kit by Trend and that took care of the calender, weather and days of the week - all I had to do there was laminate - did I mention I have a laminator? Love it!!! It's Scotch brand, and it rocks!! I added velcro dots to the backs of a million little pieces once they were laminated.
Above the yellow foam board (which I would recommend using because it's so sturdy) I have 3 page protectors so that I can easily change up what's there. Right now there's some beginner spanish.
On the foam board is the Days In School sheet that I downloaded from 1+1+1=1 Homeschool Creations, and beside that is the 100 Days of School chart from 1+1+1=1.
The top right corner has our Awana verses for Sparks and Cubbies. I've cut 4x6 photo protectors out of a dollar album for these.
Below that is the Color of the Day from 1+1+1=1, and the Unit 1 Bookmark (really? round? how odd) from Kelly's Bible 1.
The What Time Is It? is from Homeschool Creations, but instead of buying a clock I found a plain graphic on the internet and coloured it and the hands and fastened them on with a brass fastener so they can move.
The other 5 little creatures are purely for decoration and are notebook labels from Martha Stewart. I put them on velcro dots so that I can change things up for Christmas or whatever. I liked them but I get tired of things like that. Maybe this will keep me from the insane idea I should redo the board in a different colour bi-monthly. Yikes. I'd just better not mention that one to myself!!
We are going to give it the inaurgural go-atter tomorrow am. We haven't started school yet - I needed this last week to prepare and recover from a crazy summer.
I think I'm back now. I hope so. Actually, I'll be right back with one more small project. See you then! ;o)

How did you attache the page protectors to the board?
ReplyDeletemost of what's on the board (except the two verses on the top right corner in this picture) is laminated and stuck on with double sided tape. The page protectors for the two verses were stuck on with double sided tape as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you! (sorry about the extra *e) Oops...
