I remade our Morning Board this year and it's working out better than our previous set up. No markers used on the board = much less mess! Everything is velcroed on. We've also incorporated Daily Calendar Notebooks and this is the kids' favourite part of the day.
First up is the Days in School from Homeschool Creations and 100 Days of School from 1+1+1=1. They take turns putting up a sticker for each day we do morning board. The last couple years I tried to keep track here of how many days we did school but that was too frustrating. We start with Morning Board most days anyhow.
The Season is and The Weather is as well as the Days of the Week are filled in by the 6 year old. They came in a calendar set I bought. Then we (they) sing the Days of the Week, taking turns singing it to the tune of either to O My Darling Clementine or Adams Family. The girl prefers one and the boy the other. We usually sing the Months of the Year as well.
What Time is it? has been the girl's job so far, but the boy is taking turns now too. He really wants to learn to tell time and he's doing pretty good. The frame and numbers are from Homeschool Creations, but I didn't have a Judy Clock so I found this one by www.0to5.com.au and added colour and a brad.
Color of the Day is from 1+1+1=1 and Shape of the Day is new this time for us from her as well. Both are sung to the tune of B-I-N-G-O but sometimes it's too hard to spell the shape in the song, as you can imagine.
I love the We Choose Virtues cards. There's a little story to illustrate the point on the back and we have a poster on our fridge listing them as well.
So that's our Morning Board and I'll give you a tour of our Daily Calendar Notebooks in the next post.
I posted about organizing all the pieces for the morning board here.

Nice job! What did you purchase from the We Choose Virtues? Just the cards? The whole homeschool kit looks great, but a bit pricey!
ReplyDeletelove this, you are an inspiration to us all! I am signed up, I can't wait until I see your next post!
ReplyDeleteI just bought the We Choose Virtues teacher cards and the poster that lists them all.
